Whatcha Wearing?
Free People dress from Buffalo Exchange / Blouse from Philly AIDS Thrift
Tights from Gap / AK Anne Klein boots from Beacon's Closet
Vintage bag from Beyond Retro
I fell in love with this dress when I found it at Buffalo Exchange a few years ago, but I've only worn it three times. There's just something about it that doesn't quite feel...me. When I told Matt that I wasn't sure if I liked this outfit, he said "Why, because it has a renaissance festival thing going on?". Well, I guess that's exactly why! I'm not sure if the whole hippy-ish, ren-fest thing is really my style. The dress is just so pretty that I decided I didn't care! I think I'm making it work with my style with the bright tights and buttoned up blouse underneath. What do you think?

You're right, it's pretty dressy, though I wouldn't say it's costumey. The details in the dress are wonderful and the cumin hue of your tights brings out the violet even more. :D

I like that you called the color cumin rather than mustard. I never thought of it that way before!
DeleteHomegirl! I'm having the same problem with this hippy dippy dress I picked up at Animal House. It's beautiful and fits me like a glove, but I feel like I belong at Woodstock, and I don't know how to toughen it up. You did a super job with the yellow tights!

Maybe try some combat boots? That's my go-to solution when something doesn't feel tough enough!

Your style or not, that dress looks great on you! And I really like your haircut too, babe.;)
ReplyDeleteMUSTARD TIGHTS!! Just love em! And yes, the tights and the swiss-dot button up are really what pulls the outfit together to make it more "you". I think its great!
