Whatcha Wearing?
Shoes from Payless / Belt from who knows where

This is such a cute dress, but I have to admit that I probably couldn't actually wear it. It's so tight on my hips that I don't think I could sit down! Good thing it's in the shop where it can find a perfect home with someone a bit narrower than I. It has such a whimsical print with the little sketched feathers. I left the accessories to a minimum here, but I feel like this dress could work equally well for day or night just depending on how you style it.

Whatcha Wearing?
Leather vest from Goodwill / Tights from We Love Colors
Bracelet from Buffalo Exchange / Necklace from a garage sale / Soda boots from Shoe Carnival

I bought this vest at Goodwill when I was in Cincinnati last Christmas and then completely forgot about it! I'll have to find a way to work it into some of my actual outfits this winter. Instead of mixing eras, I decided to just go balls out 90s with this outfit. 90s dress, combat boots, and a silver choker. Did anyone else have some really awesome chokers in the 90s? I remember two that I had very specifically. One was a thick black fabric cord with a silver peace sign attached and the other was a flat velvet ribbon with a gold cross attached. Anyway, this dress is super cute and great for layering. The black & white color palette makes is super versatile too!

I just love that rainbow striped skirt up at the top. It's too small for me otherwise it never would have made it to the shop! That peach floral dress is another favorite of mine. It's obviously a spring/summer dress, but don't you think it would be equally (or more) interesting paired with tights, boots, and a chunky cardigan for fall/winter? I love wearing floral dresses that way during colder months. A little bit unexpected and the light colors really pop up against dark cold weather accessories.

Vintage blazer available here in at Fiery Finish Vintage
Vintage dress from Goodwill / Tights from Forever 21 / Boots from Target

There's something about fall that makes me want to wear a lot of earth tones, but that doesn't mean bright colors can't be mixed in. I've had this dress for a long time, and although it's from the 90's, I've always thought it had a very 70s vibe. That made it perfect for pairing with this awesome vintage printed blazer! I love how these prints mix together so effortlessly and the purple tights just make it all pop. It would work just as well with jeans and a t-shirt though. Unusual, but versatile, what could be better?

After a very long absence, 'How I'd Wear It' is back! This is where I take items for sale in my Etsy shop and style them as if I'm keeping them for myself. As you might imagine, this can be a dangerous game. I'm proud to say that this has only resulted in me removing one dress from the shop to keep for myself.

As you can see, Cat (yes our cat's name is Cat) decided to get in on the action this time. He even sat just inside the frame so that he was sure to get plenty of face time. It was pretty funny! While we were taking the photos, Matt said that he thought I looked like I was going to an art opening. That seems like a great place to wear this outfit, but I would also wear it with my black combat boots for everyday as well. It's always nice to have a dress that can be worn both ways!

I swear I didn't plan the color scheme for last week's additions to my Etsy shop! I guess I just had black, white, and red on the brain when I did my last batch of shopping. Anyway, who doesn't like black, white, and red? They're classics! I think my favorite piece from this batch is the b&w floral short sleeved 90s dress. I love it so much that I haven't even let myself try it on because I know I would yank it out of the shop in a second to keep it for myself. Now someone please hurry up and buy it before my self-control wavers!

Whatcha Wearing?
Dress from H&M / Shoes from Daffy's / Sunglasses from Target
Hat from Venice Beach Boardwalk / Bracelets from Olvera Street market and a garage sale

I wore this to the farmers market last Sunday and planned to post it last week, but things got busy, so here we are a week later! I bought this dress about six years ago at H&M and haven't been wearing it much the past couple of years. It was really warm out last weekend, so that seemed like a good excuse to bust it out. H&M has such trendy, throw-away fashion that it's funny when you end up holding onto something this long. I remember that EVERYONE had this dress the summer it came out. I would walk through Greenpoint on any given warm day and count at least two people sporting it. It's nice to be able to wear it now and be the only one!

I have some cute new, perfect for fall items that were added to my Etsy shop this weekend! I can just imagine someone using that wool houndstooth vest as part of an Annie Hall costume for Halloween. The best part? It's totally wearable for everyday too! It would be an excellent addition to any fall wardrobe. It's a bit strange to be posting fall items when it's just now super hot in LA. I still find myself getting into the autumn mood though, since stores are already selling Halloween stuff. That reminds me...I need to find a costume for myself! Any ideas?

Whatcha Wearing?
Shoes c/o Sole Provisions / Tank top from American Apparel
Vintage skirt and Banana Republic vest from Goodwill
Sunglasses from H&M / Vintage hat from Atlantis Attic

Those who know me know that I'm not one to put fashion in front of comfort when it comes to shoes. Moving to NYC will do that to a girl. When you spend a lot of time walking around a city, you want to look good and not get blisters at the same time. Although I live in LA now, land of driving that it is, I still make sure that each pair of shoes I wear are easy to walk in. Don't get me wrong, they have to look great too, but I don't want to be that person hobbling around because her shoes are ridiculous. So when Sole Provisions contacted me to do a review, I jumped at the chance. I was in the market for some cute slip ons and I found exactly what I was looking for in these Vionic by Orthaheel sneakers. Plus they came in mustard which is one of my favorite accent colors for an outfit!

I have to be honest, I was excited when these shoes arrived, but when I put them on it felt like I was standing on tennis balls. These things don't mess around when it comes to arch support! This made me a bit worried that they wouldn't be comfortable to walk around in. I read the tag, and it suggested wearing them for a few hours at a time before committing to a full day of wear so that your foot can adjust to the "biomechanical orthotic". I guess those of us who aren't used to lots of arch support need some time to get acclimated to that feeling. I've worn them twice now, for a few hours each time, and I have to say that my feet are adjusting and I think they're going to be very comfortable in the long run. Plus they're going to look great with jeans come fall!
