So I was just sitting at work today, minding my own business and typing an email or something, when everything started to move. What the hell? Everything's swaying back and forth. Are we having an earthquake!? Yes we were, and now I've experienced my first earthquake. Is it wrong that I thought it was kind of fun? Next up--hurricane? Living close to the water, I think that's one crazy weather experience I can live without...
We took these photos yesterday after I came home from work, and you can kind of see my fun nails in the third picture. Just a little nail painting experiment from Sunday night. Not as successful as I hoped, but it turns out it's hard to paint patterns on your nails with a toothpick! That's probably why Sally Hansen starting making these nail art pens.

(Standin' On) The Dock of the East River Ferry

Outfit Details:
Vintage dress from Beacon's Closet
Hat from Buffalo Exchange
Sunglasses from H&M (about 7 years ago)
Necklace was a gift from my Mom when I was about 12
Chain bracelet from Buffalo Exchange
Vintage clutch from Beacon's Closet
Shoes from Rainbow

The view from the Greenpoint East River Ferry dock is beautiful. And no, I don't mean the industrial wasteland you see behind me in this photo. You actually get a nice view of Manhattan in one direction and the Williamsburg Bridge in the other. As an added bonus, there are a few great murals painted along India St leading to the dock. The rocket mural immediately caught my eye since it coordinated with my outfit perfectly! Please note that I did not actually have my right hand amputated in the time it took to walk from the dock to the rocket mural. I just happened to fling my hand at a strange angle while jumping! I'm thinking about doing a series of outfit photos with each of the murals. Might be interesting...

I felt really self conscious taking these photos outside of my apartment. It may have been partially due to the gusts of wind that kept blowing over from the river, threatening to take my skirt airborn. Either way, I'll to have to get used to this if I'm going to have this blog. The self consciousness of taking outfit photos outside, not the bit about having my skirt flying up in public, that is! Anyway, had a fabulous happy hour with Matt and my cousin at Soft Spot. Can't beat 2-for-1 drinks in a nice backyard!
